Angel in the Shadows
I took this image with a new camera to me, the Mia Mezzaluna pinhole camera. It’s a very lightweight camera that I would highly recommend. The curved plane of this camera makes for an interesting image. As a result, the angel is centered between the curved grounds and branches. Aiming the camera upward, accentuates the hand right hand in the foreground. It gives you the feeling that the angel is coming down from heaven to greet you.
As with every pinhole camera, each one has its quirks and ideosynchrocies. This one is no exception. It was a breeze to load film and compose with the horizontal site lines. I will keep this one on my short list of pinhole cameras to use on a daily basis.
The Mia Mezzaluna can be purchased through Mia Pinhole Cameras. Please support this great small business!
For illustration, I took this same image with another pinhole camera and a medium format camera. I From left to right: Mia Mezzaluna camera-F140, Ranica 6x6 camera F-200, Mamiya 6MF camera with 80 mm lens.
